Step-by-step scarf tying instruction guide

Buckaroo Knot

Step 1
Begin with a folded oblong or a bias-band folded square scarf. Drape the scarf around your neck, then grasp opposite ends of the scarf, one in each hand.
Step 2
Wrap the scarf once around one or two fingers of your left hand, from over front to back and back over the fingers with the end hanging down and loose.
Step 3
The right scarf end wraps around the front of the left from front to back being sure to go under the loose left end.
Step 4
The right scarf end then comes forward around from the back, and loops over the loose left end, and through the loop made by the fingers of your left hand, from right to left.
Step 5
Tighten the square and there it is: the 4-square buckaroo knot.

Bow Tie

Step 1
A square scarf with a bias-band fold, or a folded oblong scarf, may be used for this knot.
Step 2
Place the scarf around your neck, situating it so that end "A" is about two inches longer than end "B".
Step 3
Cross "A" over "B". Bring "A" up and under the loop. Now double "B" over itself to form the front base loop of the bow tie.
Step 4
Loop "A" over the center of the loop you just formed.
Step 5
Holding everything in place, double "A" back on itself and poke it through the loop behind the bow tie.
Step 6
Adjust the bow tie by tugging at the ends of it and straightening the center knot.

Scarf Basic Knots

Below are the Basic Knots that you have to master before proceeding to learning the different styles of tying a scarf. Here you will learn 7 knots that would help you get best results when styling your scarf.

TWICE AROUND ASCOT

1.Fold the scarf according to the basic fold 1 and let it hang around your neck equally on each side.

2.Bring one side (A) towards the other side (B).

3.Let A pass from under B

4.Bring A towards the front

5.Let A pass through B again to form a knot

6.Adjust both the sides facing forward as shown in the illustration

SQUARE KNOT

1.Begin with a bias-folded square scarf, or a narrowly folded oblong

2.Grasp the two ends and drape behind around neck so that one end hangs lower than the other

3.Cross long end over the short end. Bring it up through the loop created

4.Take the same end and wrap around behind short end. Pull long end across and insert horizontally through the knot created, forming a square

5.Grasp both ends and pull back behind neck. Tie a double knot

6.Adjust so that the square knot is centered directly underneath chin

NECK WRAP

1.Adjust so that the square knot is centered directly underneath chin

3.Give the sides another cross

4.Bring both the ends towards the back of the neck

5.Bring both the ends towards the back of the neck

HOLLYWOOD KNOT

1.The front of the neck will look like this

2.Make a knot on one side (A).

3.Bring the other side (B) towards A

4.Let B pass through A to form a knot

5.Tighten the knot to get a beautiful fake knot

EUROPEAN LOOP

1.Fold the scarf according to the basic fold 3 and then fold it again to form a sort of hoop

2.Let the scarf dangle around your neck with the hoop on one side of the shoulder

3.Take the other end (A) and bring it towards the hoop

4.Let A pass through the hoop to make a European loop

5. Tighten the loop to get the complete effect
